Film vs. Digital

EEEEK!!  Ok, my Blue Mountain Brewery feature is tomorrow because I was too busy playing with my new (and FIRST) film camera, a Nikon F100.  After years of debating whether I should invest in a medium format film camera (instead of a 35mm for landscape), I decided to test the waters with a 35mm film camera.  I chose a Nikon because I could use the same lenses that I have now.  Once the package arrived yesterday, I picked up cheap Kodak 400 film at the local CVS.  Then, of course, I made Aspen model for me after work shooting digital and film in manual mode.  I was worried about  shooting film in manual without a light meter but I think the results aren't too shabby!  This was my first roll of film EVER.

So let's put your photography knowledge to a test... which ones are film and which pictures are unedited digital?

Lastly, which do you prefer, film or digital?  I'm now OBSESSED and just picked up one roll of Kodak Portra 400 to test.

The Jefferson School

This is part of a special project I'm doing for Milestone Partners.  It was raining on one of the days I took pictures.  I hope to have a few sunset or sunrise pictures.  A very interesting and beautiful historical preservation project.

A Portrait

A short post as I felt a little under the weather today.

My first film camera arrives in the mail tomorrow. CANNOT WAIT!  Posts might be a little skimpy until I learn how to use it.

No words

I have no words today.  DC and the people affected by today's event are in my thoughts and prayers.  The following are pictures from when I lived near DC last year.

An Earlysville Sunset

I love silhouettes.  I think a sunset would make the perfect backdrop to the silhouette of a groom and bride on their wedding night.  Michael was in happier spirits tonight and played model for me while I practice silhouettes.  These were shot on my recently repaired Nikon D600 in Earlysville.

Never Forget

This post obviously comes a day late as I was traveling to and from work yesterday.  I think former President Bush said it best when he declared "these acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of America's resolve."
